Emergent Practice In Divine Order

featuring poets Prometheus Prometheus, Tasha Jokic, Lua Dibble, Erik VanBezooijen, and Jonathan Rentler. hosted by Sophia Valera Heinecke.

This program brings together writers from different communities who have attended or inspired the Lafayette Gardens Interfaith Poetry Devotional. This interfaith devotional is open to all and centers the themes that are important to young people in the community that draw spiritual energy from the lineage of the Baha'i writings. The 2025 themes were all picked by the devotional co-facilitator, Destiny, and are Cycles of Change, Mending The Soul, Call and Response, and Resilience/Recovery.

Emergent Practice In Divine Order began as a challenge brought to organizer and devotional co-facilitator Sophia. The basis of this multifaceted project is to unite and create conversation between four core texts: Emergent Strategies by adrienne maree brown, Practicing New Worlds by Andrea Ritchie, The World Order of Bahá’u’lláh, and The Advent of Divine Justice by Shoghi Effendi. The incredible gift of this challenge can be summarized in this quote from Emergent Strategies and continues to be realized through monthly poetry devotionals: "When we know each others skills and are comfortable with each other we can pose challenges that motivate a good change that is satisfying and reflective of more than our own interests."
