The Youth Poetry Festival is a highlight of NYC PoFest each year, and it caters to toddlers, teenagers, and everyone in between. We are proud to partner with the Teachers & Writers Collaborative!

Teachers & Writers Collaborative (T&W) celebrates the imagination through transformative writing and arts education for youth and lifelong learners. Their programs and publications inspire classroom innovation and create greater equity in and through the literary arts.

T&W programs include: writing workshops for youth, art workshops for seniors, and training for teachers. In addition, T&W hosts the NY Poetry Out Loud recitation competition and the NY Youth Poet Laureate program for teens in New York State. To support the teaching of creative writing, we publish Teachers & Writers Magazine and an assortment of books for educators.

The Poetry Society of New York is eager to empower young voices and create inclusive programming for all ages. We want to inform participants and parents that they may encounter potentially triggering and/or graphic content when engaging with the larger festival space. We have provided all our readers with the importance of content warnings and will do our best to facilitate a safe, age-friendly atmosphere. Still, please be mindful that there is a strong possibility for children to encounter poetry and performance that is more explicit. Please remember that this community gathering is meant to uplift all voices and experiences. We are all working together to be aware and respectful. Thank you for your understanding and your continued support.
